The Bandaranaike Memorial International Conference Hall (BMICH) in Colombo is an iconic landmark and Sri Lanka's premier convention center. Built between 1970 and 1973, it was a generous gift from the People's Republic of China, dedicated to the memory of Sri Lanka's former Prime Minister, S.W.R.D. Bandaranaike. As the first purpose-built conference center in Asia, the (BMICH) boasts state-of-the-art facilities, including a magnificent main conference and concert hall with a seating capacity of 1600, multiple meeting rooms, and the expansive Sirimavo Bandaranaike Memorial Exhibition Centre. Its versatile venues cater to a wide array of events, from international summits and exhibitions to cultural performances and weddings. Set amidst 40 acres of beautifully landscaped gardens with water fountains, the (BMICH) is a symbol of international cooperation and a vibrant hub for global dialogue and cultural exchange in Sri Lanka. It continues to host significant local and international events, solidifying its reputation as a leading MICE (Meetings, Incentives, Conferences, and Exhibitions) venue in South Asia.
